From all around the Beaumont Hamel

On July 1st 1916, the Battle of the Somme was launched. More than 25 nationalities took part. At Beaumont Hamel, Newfoundlanders fought for the first time on the Western Front. The memorial dedicated to them stands on one of the rare sites from the Great War where the trenches have been entirely preserved.
