Etang Saint Ladre National Nature Reserve

It's one of the smallest nature reserves in France, but it has a remarkable biodiversity. The sheer extent of alkaline peat bog in the Avre valley and the department of the Somme means that it is an area of some importance in western Europe. This gives an idea of the scale of the challenge involved in the conservation of this site and its flora and fauna.
